CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Workers with Animal Care Services have their hands full.
The shelter is facing overcrowding of animals at their building, but they are hosting a fun event to hopefully find some of those pets forever homes.
Workers with Animal Care Services say their goal is to clear the shelter and their luau adoption event will help.
Kennel Tech for Animal Care Services Sarah Rodriguez says the animals at the shelter will make great companions but they need families to stop by.
“We're so overcrowded and we have so many great animals that are just wanting forever homes,” says Rodriguez.
Staff says the luau adoption event will help fight overcrowding and will further the shelter's goal of becoming a no-kill shelter Animal Care Services hope to see their cats and dogs given a chance to have a forever home.
The animals will come spayed or nurtured, micro-chipped, and if you live in city limits you will also receive a city license.
Also apart of the event, all adoptions are only ten dollars with the focus of clearing the shelter.
The event will take place Saturday, August 3rd, 2019 at the Corpus Christi Animal Care Services building.
Located at 2626 Holly Road and this will start at 1 pm and will end at 5 pm.
It's only $10 to adopt.
To adopt a pet, workers say you must be at least 18-years-old.
