CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The 45th annual Beach to Bay Relay Marathon has been postponed until October 30, 2021 due to COVID-19.

The event was originally scheduled for May of 2020, but was then rescheduled to May 2021.

In a release, the race committee said that due to the “current situation with illness and the vaccination rate, the committee feels that moving the race to the fall is best”.

Registration for the event remains open, and teams that have already entered the race in 2020 and 2021 are all ready to go.

The committee asserts that all BIB numbers will stay the same, all three races will stay exactly the same, and team registration details will be the same (but they can be updated at any time).

"2020 was the first year the race has not taken place since it was first run in 1976," said race director Doug McBee.

"The October '21 race will be a celebration like no other. We are planning some special surprises

and expect the best team spirit and costumes ever!"
