CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The United Way of the Coastal Bend is providing free drop-off tax preparation for eligible taxpayers in the area.
The IRS announced that the nation's tax season will start on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, but that doesn’t mean you have to wait until then to start filing.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is offering free help to filers with a 2020 household income of $66,000 or less. The United Way said in a release that those who qualify can drop-off their tax documents at one of four VITA sites in Corpus Christi to have their tax returns prepared for free by an IRS-certified VITA volunteer.
