CCPD wants to remind us all about a Texas law that will go into effect tomorrow, September 1. A law that raises the legal age to buy tobacco products to 21, with the exception of active military.

The bill called SB 21 passed through Texas legislature with plenty of support.

CCPD was also clear about the penalties involving selling or giving tobacco products to minors.

"A violation will be classified as a Class C Misdemeanor which includes a fine up to $500," their blotter post says.

The only exception to the law is that active military members who are 18 or over are allowed to purchase tobacco products.
