One person has been charged in connection to an armed robbery that happened Saturday evening that involved a team of at least three at a local pawn shop.
Corpus Christi Police spokesman Travis Pace told KRIS 6 around 8 p.m. the search for two others had been called off, but that the suspects would soon be served outstanding warrants.
It happened at the First Cash Pawn at Everhart and McArdle.
A witness who was thrown to the ground during the robbery said she had heard at least 12 rounds shot into the air.
“We were talking, next thing you know, three guys come in, started screaming at us, telling us get on the ground,” said Monica Flores. “He was standing right over me, shooting and I was looking all up — it was crazy.”
Police were able to track down the vehicle in connection to the robbery at Burr and Whitaker drive.
“Officers were able to link up with the suspect vehicle,” said CCPD Lieutenant Nicholas Kless. “After a short pursuit, we were able to locate one of the suspects and we have one person arrested.”
Police were able to verify that there were shots fired from the pawn shop and described it as a violent scene.
Flores said she’s happy she’s alive.
“It was unexpected I give thanks to God that he didn’t kill none of us,” she said. “It was just nothing but females there at the moment.”
Police have not yet released the name of the one who was charged.
