The fire at the Oso Creek Disc Golf Course, near the end of Cattleman Drive, continues to burn. Homes are being evacuated in that area as a precaution.

Pete Trevino and Big Bertha will be feeding families in Sinton on Friday, March 7 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 906 E Sinton St.
Trevino said the pit will be getting hot at 5 a.m. He will begin feeding people at noon on Friday.

The fire at the Oso Creek Disc Golf Course, near the end of Cattleman Drive, continues to burn. Winds are taking the fire south, and fire officials are going to let it burn down to the Oso Creek.
CCFD Chief Belyeu said that the fire has burned 30 acres of land.
The fire is not threatening any homes.

A fire is nearly contained on the city's southside near Safety Steel Drive. The fire started at about 9:30 Wednesday morning.

The Texas A&M Forest Service released a map of the two large fires that burned in Sinton on Tuesday. In northern Sinton, the Railway Fire has burned 700 acres so far near the Steel Dynamics complex. As of 10:25 am, 65-percent of that fire was contained.
The Welder Fire has burned 82 acres of land so far. That fire is 75-percent contained.

Ranchero's Restaurant at 404 N Vineyard in Sinton is offering free tacos for those displaced by Tuesday's fires.

On Wednesday morning, Sassy Kat Boutique announced on its Facebook page that it would collect clothes for families who lost their homes in yesterday's fires.
The boutique is located at 15122 Northwest Boulevard near FM 1889. They will be accepting donations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Sinton's mayor has announced that fire evacuees can return home. Families who live north of East Main Street have been told they will not have gas service at this time.

WEDNESDAY FORECAST: Weather conditions are improved, but the entire Coastal Bend is still under a High Fire Danger. Please continue to avoid activities that could cause sparks or fires. Air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups today, so avoiding time outdoors might be a good idea. Luckily winds will be much lighter today, aiding recovery efforts. Humidity is still low and vegetation is still dry with no meaningful rainfall in the forecast.

Warnings and Advisories related to high winds, fire danger and marine hazards have been discontinued for the evening. Be aware that dry conditions will prevail again Wednesday, although wind will be lighter. Elevated fire danger will still be a threat, and with increasing windiness Thursday fire danger will rise again (even through humidity will rise in response to onshore flow). Another serious fire threat will appear this Saturday in the wake of a strong cold front (high wind, low humidity and still very dry conditiions.

The new evacuation point has been moved to 219 W 5th Street, the San Patricio County Fairgrounds & Event Center.

A fire has been reported on the island. We have reports that Aquarius Street has been closed.

A large house fire has been reported near the 5600 block of Yorktown.
Yorktown has been closed in both directions between Cimarron and Rodd Field.
Drivers are asked to avoid the area.

Several agencies are responding to multiple fires in Sinton.
A large brush fire is east of Sinton, moving towards the northeast part of town.
The Sinton City Manager, John Hobson, said that all city residents were being evacuated. They are being asked to go to the Sinton Community Center at 1301 E. Sinton.
Multiple structures have burned and more are currently burning.
They are asking the public to avoid the area.
Both the Sinton High School and Elementary were evacuated.
Students that were still at those schools were taken to the middle school where families can pick them up.

As wildfire potential continues across Texas, neighbors across the Coastal Bend should prepare and keep prevention at the forefront of their minds.
“Dry conditions will persist into the weekend, continuing this week’s risk for wildfires,” said Jared Karns, Texas A&M Forest Service Fire Chief. “It’s important for Texans to prepare for wildfires, work to prevent them, and heed warnings of local officials.”

The forecast for March 4th includes powerful winds, dry conditions, and lots of sun—all the ingredients for wildfires to ignite and spread.
A fire has left hundreds of peoplewithout power in Annaville Tuesday morning. According to Assistant Fire Chief Bill Belyeu, power lines fell onto an R.V. causing a fire on Starlite Lane and Leopard Street. Luckily, no one was inside the R.V. at the time and no one nearby was hurt. Fire crews have put out the fire and it appears the R.V. was destroyed. According to AEPTexas.com, more than 1,400 homes and businesses along the Violet Road area are without power.
The dry air behind this morning's cold front, gusty winds, and dry vegetation increase fire danger.
Please avoid these activities because any sparks could set off a fire that would thrive in these weather conditions:
