A Nueces County grand jury has indicted the man accused of killing a Corpus Christi Police Department officer and hurting two others in a traffic-stop crash.

Brandon Portillo was indicted on three charges including intoxication manslaughter causing the death of a peace officer and two counts of intoxication assault causing serious bodily injury to a peace officer.

Portillo is accused of being drunk and causing the crash that killed CCPD officer Alan McCollum and injured two officers on Jan. 31. Officer Michael Love was severely injured and was hospitalized for several days. The other officer wasn't seriously injured.

Portillo remains in the Nueces County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
