ALICE, Texas — A 37-year-old woman remains in Jim Wells County Jail in lieu of $500,000 in bonds after she was arrested in connection with the death of a 2-month-old boy in Alice.
The Alice Echo News Journal reports that Erika Gonzalez was arrested by Alice Police in connection with the death of Alexander Gonzalez.
The infant was found dead in his crib back in October. And after a report from the medical examiner, police ruled that the boy’s death was a homicide.
Gonzalez, who reportedly is the infant's aunt, was arrested yesterday on suspicion of capital murder.
That crime means life in person or the death penalty.
