AUSTIN, Texas — Gov. Greg Abbott is requesting five Texas counties be deemed disaster areas after Hurricane Hanna.
The governor wrote the letter to President Trump asking for public assistance for debris removal along with direct federal assistance for Nueces, Kleberg, Cameron, Hidalgo and Willacy counties.
He also added the recent recovery efforts from Hurricane Laura and Tropical Storm Beta all while dealing with the pandemic have exhausted state resources.
