Three pilots were able to walk away unharmed after a close call at Cabaniss field last week.

According to Lt. Michelle Tucker, spokesperson for the Chief of Naval Air Training, a T-44C Pegasus was making touch-and-go landings at about 11:15 a.m. Thursday when the aircraft’s landing gear failed.

The pilot was able to bring the plane safely to a stop with minimal damage to the aircraft.

Two student pilots and an instructor were onboard at the time of the mishap, none were injured, Tucker said.

The aircraft is expected to be transported back to NASCC this week.
