Suspected burglar entering homes of sleeping victims arrested

Just four days after Corpus Christi Police warned residents of a burglar hitting area homes, an arrest has been made.

Detectives with the criminal investigation division said they were able to gather evidence, identify a suspect, and issue a warrant for 32-year-old Orlin Geovany Murillo-Veliz.

He is accused of breaking into homes and entering the bedrooms of sleeping residents.  The first incident was reported on May 21st and another was reported on May 23rd.

He was arrested at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bluntzer and Buford Street and transported to the City Detention Center.

Police are asking that anyone with information about these incidents to call the Corpus Christi Police Department Criminal Investigations Division at 361-886-2840.
