A third murder trial for a Corpus Christi man accused of killing a 13-year-old boy ended in a mistrial today.
The third trial for David Davila began two weeks ago. The jury began deliberating yesterday around noon and didn’t leave the courthouse until 10 pm last night. They continued deliberating at 9 a.m and around 2:30 pm today, they announced a hung jury.
Davila is charged with murder for shooting 13-year-old Alex Torres in 2015.
Torres was fatally shot when he answered the door of his home at the Treyway Apartments, 2022 Treyway Terrace.

Prosecutors argue Davila went to the apartment that night to shoot his ex-girlfriend andkilled Torres by mistake.
His first trial ended in a mistrial last September. His second trial ended in a mistrial in January.
Update at 4:41 p.m: The District Attorney’s Office says there will not be a fourth trial for David Davila.
