Social media threat leads to Veterans Memorial High School lockdown

Corpus Christi Independent School District placed Veterans Memorial High School on lockdown.

According to CCISD Police Chief Kirby Warnke, the school was locked down as a precaution due to a threat on Snapchat. It was lifted about 12:25 p.m.

Several Corpus Christi Police officers and CCISD officers are at the campus. All students were reported safe.

According to Kaffie Middle School’s Facebook page, that school was on modified lockdown due to a possible disturbance in the area. The disturbance was not directed at Kaffie.
