Peter Zanoni attended his first city council meeting as Corpus Christi’s city manager today.

Zanoni, whose first official day on the job was Monday, told council members that his experience as a deputy city manager in San Antonio has prepared him for his current position.

He says he’s already heard plenty of good ideas on how to improve the city but will rely on the community and city council to bring those idea to fruition.

“One of the things I didn’t anticipate through the process was the overwhelming support from the community and the genuine outreach and hugs and handshakes,” Zanoni said. “They are excited about making some positive momentum forward. I’m glad I can help them do that as their next city manager.”

Zanoni added he plans on staying in the position for five to 15 years.
