Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi has announced a $500 scholarship for Spring graduates of Del Mar College to transfer to the Island University.
President and CEO of the university Dr. Kelly M. Quintanilla gave the 2019 Del Mar College graduates the news when she spoke at their commencement ceremony.
“I have a gift for you,” Quintanilla said. “We have set up a $500 scholarship for all spring 2019 Del Mar College graduates who transfer to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi.”
She also mentioned other transfer scholarships up to $4,000, that are dependent on GPA.
She remarked, “One day you could be the next president of Del Mar College or the next president of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi,”
The president and CEO of Del Mar College recognizes the importance of continued education through the two institutions.
“This generous scholarship for our graduates tonight is another example of how our strong relationship continues to further those opportunities,” Mark Escamilla, Ph.D., President and CEO of Del Mar College “A $500 scholarship is an incredible gift for our graduates who have earned an associate degree and who plan to continue their education at the Island University. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate and recognize their hard work to reach this point in their lives.”
