The countdown is underway until this Saturday’s Buc Days Illuminated Night Parade.  People are already calling dibs on their spots.

The route has changed this year because of the Harbor Bridge work.  The parade begins downtown at the American Bank Center and goes up to Staples Street.  Years before the parade started at Miller High School stadium along Leopard Street to downtown.

Tonight, people were marking their spots with different kinds of chalk on Staples and Kinney.

“It’s chalk spray paint. We are getting more and more advanced,” said one eager parade watcher, “police already stopped me. I said chalk, washes with water. They said okay.”

The City will be enforcing new rules this year regarding parade spots.  If you want to pick a place on Chaparral Street, those will be on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.

And starting Friday at 5 p.m., you can start setting up your camp on Schatzell, Leopard and Staples Streets.

Our sister station, KRIS-TV will be airing the parade live on Saturday.
