Fiesta de la Flor 2019 is only one day away. Thousands of people are expected to head downtown Friday and Saturday as Corpus Christi celebrates the legacy of Selena.

Security preparations have been underway for quite some time already.

A few obvious things are not allowed at the festival, such as weapons, drugs or fireworks.

However, there are a few other items you should leave at home if you plan to attend.

According to the festival’s website, bottles, containers and coolers will not be allowed inside.

You also may recall back in 2015 when thunderstorms quite literally rained on the parade, but umbrellas will also not be allowed.

Additionally, lawn chairs and folding chairs cannot be brought on festival grounds.

You’ll have to depend on your smart phone for documenting the weekend’s memories, because video equipment and professional cameras are prohibited.

While downtown is often a hot spot for people to bring their pets, pets will not be allowed inside Fiesta de la Flor, unless it is a service animal.

Outside food and drinks are also prohibited, but there will be an entire lot of more than 20 food trucks parked just outside the American Bank Center.

As far as transportation, park-and-ride services will be available to and from the site.

Buses will pick up festival attendees at Corpus Christi City Hall and the Nueces County Courthouse beginning Friday at 4:30 p.m. Rides will be available Saturday morning beginning at 10 a.m. Those free bus services will run until 1 a.m. on both nights of Fiesta de la Flor.
