Jim Wells County Precinct One Constable Juan ‘Chuy’ Salinas resigned today.
It’s because of his health.

The Troubleshooters spoke with Salinas in May last year, and he told us about how he had been unable to carry out his duties, even though he was still receiving his full pay and benefits.

Salinas has been Precinct 1 Constable since 2005 and has been re-elected 4 times.
He’s also a Purple Heart recipient.
His resignation is official May 31st.

Jim Wells County will advertise for someone to take his place until December 2020, when Salinas’ term officially ends.
