The Texas Surf Museum on North Water Street is setting up a new exhibit.  It showcases a little known aspect of the Vietnam conflict.

It’s called “China Beach: Surfing during the Vietnam War”.  It features pictures and videos that illustrate how surfing was used as a healing mechanism during the war.
The surf museum hopes to have a grand opening on June 6 which is also the D-Day Anniversary.
Museum staff says anyone can drop by any time and watch as they set up the exhibit which is on loan from the California Surf Museum.
It was a joint venture to bring it to Corpus Christi between the USO of South Texas and the Texas Surf Museum.
Proceeds from the exhibit will be used to offer surf camps for military members and their families.
