For the 15th year in a row, Del Mar College is offering free tax preparation assistance.  The program is offered through the Internal Revenue’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program better known as VITA.

Students are trained in tax and accounting software. These students then provide free tax preparation for those on a tight budget.  If you’re a working student, a retiree, or somebody who made less than $66,000 last year, hundreds of certified volunteers are waiting to help you with your state and federal tax returns.

You’ll need to provide a photo ID, social security cards for individual and dependents, and W-2’s.  Also 1095’s for health care information and other documents like a 1098 if college was attended.

Volunteers in the VITA program are advanced accounting students, and they will be available in room 206 at the College’s East Campus location starting January 29 every Tuesday and Thursday until April 11th.
