The Texas Department of Transportation will be working on sections of SPID leading to closures of lanes and ramps next week.  It’s part of the SPID ramp reversal project.

Crews will continue widening the overpass bridges at Kostoryz Road and Carroll Lane.  Crews will be working on that freeway project Sunday, January 13 through Tuesday, January 15 from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly.  All freeway main lanes and ramps will be closed between Kostoryz Road and Weber Road.  Drivers will have to take a detour exit at the Kostoryz Road exit ramp and stay on the frontage road until the Weber access ramp to get back on the freeway.

Starting Monday, January 14 through Friday, January 18 the right eastbound freeway frontage road will be closed in several areas between Kostoryz Rd. and Airline Rd.  The sections of the road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.  Crews will be widening the road, adding new sidewalks, curbs, gutters, and storm drains.

The speed limit in the construction area is 55 mph on the freeway and 40 mph on the frontage road. Drivers should be on the lookout for construction workers at all times along the entire SH 358 corridor, and are reminded that traffic fines double in work zones when workers are present.
