The Food and Drug Administration Commissioner warns Americans against eating raw cookie dough this holiday season.
Dr. Scott Gottlieb replied to a question posed to him on Twitter regarding when it was safe to eat cookie dough. In Dr. Suess rhyming fashion, he tweeted eating raw cookie dough of any kind is never recommended by the FDA not even with a mouse.
Raw eggs can contain salmonella and uncooked flour can contain the E. coli bacteria. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says cooking the ingredients kills these germs.
