17-year-old arrested in Norton Street store armed robbery

Corpus Christi police have announced they have made an arrest in an aggravated robbery case.

Police say two armed suspects walked into a store located in the 2900 block of Norton Street.

The robbery happened around 9:45 p.m.Tuesday evening.

When the two young men approached the counter, both suspects pulled out handguns and demanded cash from the register.

Senior Officer Travis Pace, with the Corpus Christi police department, said investigators executed a warrant in the 5200 Block of Koztoryz Road to apprehend one of the suspects.

Police say 17-year-old Jodaya Tapia was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Investigators are still looking for the second suspect that took part in the armed robbery.
