Island University, Port of Corpus Christi host free car emissions testing

Do you think your car is polluting the air? If so, today you have a chance to get a voucher for up to $600 to fix it.

Take your car to the 19th Annual Autocheck held by the Island University and the Port of Corpus Christi for a free inspection. University and Port employees will be there to check emissions levels, test gas caps and even do engine light readings.

It only takes five minutes to measure you vehicle’s emission levels. Qualifying vehicles will receive the voucher to help with repairs, if needed.

The CCPD Auto Theft Task Force will also be available to etch your VIN number onto your windows for free.

The event is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Whataburger Field.
