One homebuilder wants to make sure children don’t go hungry.

This morning, Bart and Michelle Braselton of Braselton Homes donated $4,000 to the Food for Life’s “Snack Pack Program” and West Oso Independent School District.

Food for Life provides children, who may come from low-income families, with food to take home on Fridays. This will ensure the children won’t go hungry over the weekend.

The food packs that will be given to students will consist of soups, macaroni and cheese, instant potatoes and canned vegetables.

Fish for Life’s President Chuck Goodwin said donations like the one made today are important. “Children need to know that we care and it sets a tone for other people to step forward and be volunteers and help present the community.” Goodwin said.

The group will issue these snack packs that contain a juice box and fruit.

West Oso ISD counselors have identified 20 students at John F. Kennedy Elementary and 20 students at West Oso Junior High who will receive the food packs.

They will discretely pass out the food packs to those students on Fridays.
