First day of early voting shows strong turnout

Early voting continues today for the midterm elections and Nueces County is seeing an increase in turnout compared to 2014 and 2016.

11,811 voters have cast their ballot so far in Nueces County. That includes 8,021 people that voted in person on Monday and 3,790 mail-in ballots prior to early voting.

This is more than double the number for the first day of early voting in the 2014 midterm election when 5,881 voters cast their ballot on the first day, including mail-in ballots. In 2016, 10,231 voters cast their ballot on the first day of early voting.
