The powerful punch of Hurricane Michael can be felt here in South Texas.
The Coastal Bend is under a Coastal Flood Warning. Not only is high water a problem, but strong currents have created an under current and swimmers are urged to stay out of the water.
Also, North and South Beaches at the National Seashore are closed and will remain closed at least through tomorrow (Thursday).
The park is still open and it is still possible to park at the visitors center and walk onto the beach, but camping and driving on the beach is not possible due to the high tides.
