UPDATE: The lockdown at Refugio ISD has been lifted. The district says High School extracurricular activities will be held as scheduled. Elementary extracurricular activities are cancelled for the day.
Refugio Independent School District Campuses have been placed in lockdown.
According to the school district, a person who authorities say may be armed and dangerous ran from police this morning after a traffic stop, prompting the lockdown.
RISD says all students are safe and secure. Parents are asked NOT to come to the school to pick up children.
