Police arrest man who allegedly killed 22-year-old woman

Corpus Christi police are saying they have arrested a 21-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed a 22-year-old woman.

The shooting happened Friday night near a convenience store near the intersection of The Crosstown Expressway and Holly Road intersection.

Witnesses reported to police that they were behind a white truck, waiting at the intersection when a dark car pulled up to the side of the white truck and reported multiple gunshots ringing out. The female was shot multiple times.

She was taken to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police say through their investigation, Detectives identified a suspect and obtained several warrants for 21-year-old Heriberto Segura. Detectives relayed their information to DPS Troopers who located Segura to a home in Orange Grove, Texas.

Segura was arrested and charged with murder, and five separate aggravated assault charges. He was booked into the Jim Wells County Jail and his bond was set at $1,500,000.
