A man is recovering in a hospital after police say he was shot in the hip.
The shooting happened in the 1800 block of Misty Drive, in a neighborhood across from Moody High School.
Police said officers were dispatched to the location after family members said the 40-year-old man walked into the home and said he was shot around 8:40 pm Saturday night.
Police secured the location and medics transported the victim to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital.
Officers added the victim was not being cooperative in the shooting investigation and don’t have an identity of the shooter.
Lt. Steven Gonzalez, with the Corpus Christi Police Department, said, “We have witnesses saying they heard one gunshot and then they heard the vehicle leaving the area.” Lt. Gonzalez added they don’t know if that vehicle was involved in the shooting.
Medics informed police that the victim’s wounds appear to be non-life threatening.
