CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Five of the restaurants on tonight’s Kitchen Cops report are less than a block from one another.

Two of them earned perfect scores.

First up, Bellino’s at 3815 S. Alameda St.

Francesco, the owner, is still keeping it clean. He says business is gradually picking up.

By the way, they’re hiring, if you’re interested.

Congratulations Bellino’s on earning perfect score.

And at Denny’s at 4918 SPID, Jason, the GM, and Millie, one of the managers, are proud of the perfect score sticker they and the staff earned for keeping it clean.

Way to go, y’all.

Snapka’s Drive-In at 4434 Weber on Weber earned another perfect score sticker. Pablo Garz brings his wife there three times a week as a treat after her dialysis treatments.

His favorite order is fried chicken with fries and a drink. His wife likes steak.

Barbecue and the fixins are always on the menu at the Silverado Smokehouse, 4522 Weber.

Folks have been waiting patiently thru the pandemic to be able to come inside, sit down, and enjoy some delicious barbecue.

“It didn’t affect our regulars. We had a lot of our regulars come in and support us," Silverado manager Kelley Martin said. "Of course, they had to take it to go. We had a lot of people eat in the parking lot.”

Now get this.

Silverado, Snapka's and three other locations on the A-list all are located near the Weber/Gollihar intersection.

Googly's at 4124 S. Staples and Nano's Taco Run at 4722 Holly also are on the A-list.

Inspectors gave Cafe Italia at 4117 S. Staples an 89 which landed them on the B list.

Among the violations, all prepared food needs to be dated and kept in a refrigerator.
