Only one perfect score but there are three B-list restaurants.

Roastorium located at 3333 South Padre Island Drive scored a 100.

Earning a spot on the A-list with a 99 is Cookie Bouquet located at 4709 Alameda.

My Thai Sushi & Sake located at 345 Alister scored a 98.

Eleanor’s Coffee Bar & Market located at 4231 Alameda scored a 97.

Pizza Hut located at 5933 Mcardle scored a 97.

Subway located at 10529 South Padre Island Drive scored a 97.

Dairy Queen located at 5919 Mcardle scored a 92.

Hester’s Café & Coffee Bar located at 3812 Alameda scored a 91.

La Playa Mexican Restaurant located at 4201 South Padre Island Drive scored a 91.

China Super Buffet located at 1216 Waldron scored a 91.

Dropping down to the B-list with an 84 is Thai Siam located at 13925 South Padre Island Drive.

Violations included rotten vegetables stored with good vegetables, onion stored outside, an open sugar bag on the floor, dish machine was not working properly, the back handwashing sink needs to be repaired, there was no soap or towels at the hand washing sink, rodent droppings, wiping towels were not stored properly, bulk food containers were not labeled, the men’s bathroom needs soap and unnecessary clutter needs to be thrown away.

Linda’s Mexican Restaurant located at 4033 Gollihar scored an 82.

Health inspectors found refrigeration units kept at the wrong temperature, all food needed to be covered, corroded shelf racks the in walk in cooler need to be replaced, no food manager on duty, food was not labeled, the hand sink was blocked.

Other violations included no towels at the hand sink, heavy residue buildup on ceiling areas in the walk in cooler and all holes in the ceiling need to be repaired.

Taqueria San Juan located at 410 Cut-off Road scored an 81.

The restaurant lost points because flour was on the flood, raw meat was stored above gorditas and cooked bacon, a dirty can opener, cooks need to use soap when washing their hands and all pesticides must be applied by a certified pest control operator.

Other violations included chemicals stored near food, no paper towels at sink, the hand washing sink was used for other tasks, employees were not wearing beard guards, wrist bands needed to be removed, employee drinks did not have lids, wiping towels were not stored properly, a particle board was in an uncovered maseca container, clean equipment was stored on the floor, souffle cups were used to dispense baking powder and aprons were not stored properly.
