The Classic 90’s movie “The Sandlot” is coming back with the original cast as a TV series.
The classic film, set in the ’60s and centered on a team of loveable and unique backyard baseball enthusiasts, was enjoyed by baseball fans and non-baseball fans alike in the ’90s.
In a nostalgic move by the original director David Mickey Evans, WTHR reports that he revealed the big news on a podcast called Rain Delay.

According to SlashFilm, Evans also revealed that fans of the iconic baseball movie can look forward to a possible movie prequel and that the TV series will be set in the year 1984.
Evans did not reveal which online streaming service is slated to release the project.
