CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — There has been four COVID-19 mega vaccination drive-through events aimed at seeing people 65 years or older.
Nueces County officials confirm more than 9,000 people have been vaccinated in less than a week. And of those vaccinated, about 60% were female, 40% were male.
Vaccination distribution continues to be a phased approach. Currently, in the 1-B group, Moderna vaccine recipients are advised to receive the second dose 28 days after the initial dose, after that, studies suggest that the vaccine could lose efficacy. Those who return will have to wait in line with their vaccination card with important information such as name, date of birth and the date of your first dose, says Nueces County Director of Public Health Annette Rodriguez.
“We believe people that they’re actually in the phase 1A/1B and we know more phases are going to open, we believe its going to be the 1C,” she said.
An allocated 5,000 vaccines are expected for the next COVID-19 drive-through. If it your second dose, be sure to have your vaccination card in hand. You will also be expected to wait in line along with others receiving their first dose.
