Water parks across the state are getting ready to reopen on Friday. And state-park camping has an immediate go-ahead to start.
Gov. Greg Abbott gave them the go-ahead yesterday.
And Hurricane Alley plans to hold their reopening on Saturday.
It will be operating under the 25 percent rule. And there'll be social distancing reminders throughout the park.
The Waves Resort on the Island will not be opening.
Back in March, Waves officials announced they would remain closed until next summer.
And you'll soon be able to stay overnight at state parks like Mustang Island.
Starting toda, you can make reservations for overnight camping.
It will be allowed beginning June 1 through Sept. 7.
Social distancing and other health protocols will be in place.
Visitors will be encouraged to wear face coverings and to bring their own supplies of hand sanitizer.
Reservations will be made by phone and officials say to expect a longer wait time than normal. So you’re encouraged to make reservations online.
