CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A second shipment of Moderna vaccines has arrived today at the Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District.

The city will conduct a press conference beginning at 3 p.m. to detail information about the distribution.

Watch here:

Mega vaccine drive-thru clinics are being scheduled to take place at 8 a.m. Friday and Saturday for Phase 1A & 1B individuals at the Richard Borchard Regional Fairgrounds in Robstown at 1213 Terry Shamsie Boulevard.

All registration will be on site and staff will be on hand to assist individuals with registration. There will be no online pre-registration.

Approximately 2,500 vaccines will be administered each day on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the drive-thru clinic will be closed once it reaches 2,500 persons. The remaining vaccines, approximately 2,500, will be administered on Saturday until none are left.

This earlier than expected vaccine shipment comes after Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales and Corpus Christi Mayor Paulette M. Guajardo contacted state officials requesting additional vaccines.
