State senator Hinojosa quarantined as COVID-19 precaution

State Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa is in self-quarantine after potentially being exposed to COVID-19, he told KRIS 6 News.

The quarantine was triggered after having a meal with Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez, who tested positive for the novel coronavirus, Hinojosa said.

Hinojosa said he has been tested for the virus and results have come back negative.

He said he has not had presented with any symptoms, but, in accordance with CDC guidelines, he will quarantine for the appropriate length of time.
