SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS — A Texas man is accused of threatening to spread the Coronavirus.

Christopher Perez was arrested by federal agents at his home in San Antonio Tuesday.

Police say he allegedly claimed on Facebook that he paid someone to spread the virus at local grocery stores.

Authorities say the claim was a hoax.

Now the 39-year-old is facing charges of hoaxes involving biological agents.

Perez reportedly telling the police he posted the threat because he wanted to keep people from going out to stores.
