CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The public health district announced Monday that they have received their anticipated shipment of 5,500 Moderna vaccines.
Due to their prompt arrival, a drive-thru mega vaccine clinic will take place on Tuesday Jan. 26 beginning at 8:00 a.m. at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds.
Registration for the vaccine will be on-site for individuals in the Phase 1A and 1B tier. There will be no online pre-registration.
Mayor Paulette Guajardo also tells KRIS 6 News that 500 people will also receive their second doses on Friday Jan. 29. A drive-thru vaccination clinic specifically for administration of second doses will be held at the fairgrounds in Robstown. The clinic is catering to individuals who received their first doses at the first mega vaccine clinic on Dec. 29. The health district will notify individuals through text so they can receive their second dose, and they are asked to bring their vaccination cards with them.
If you miss this second dose vaccination drive-thru clinic, you can attend one of the health district’s next second dose clinics that will be announced when supplies become available.
The city said for visitors coming to the vaccine clinics to expect a wait time and plan accordingly. There will be portable restrooms on-site.
