ROBSTOWN, Texas — People are lined up at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown for another COVID-19 vaccine drive through clinic.

CCPD mentioned traffic earlier this morning was 4 miles long. You can see there are two lines of people in their vehicles getting their shots.

Some people waited for nearly 24 hours.

Once they get vaccinated, they are directed to go wait in this area for 15 minutes or if you have a red tag for 30 minutes.

Registration for the vaccine will be here on-site for people in the phase 1a and 1b tier. There will be no online pre-registration.

The Department of State Health Services says at today's clinic, it will be testing its efficiency to see if all 5,000 doses can be distributed in one day.

The city is asking people coming to the vaccine clinic to expect long waits and to plan accordingly.

A look at the map shows people are asked to enter from Interstate 69 northbound frontage road to County Road 44 and then Texas Yes Boulevard.

The gates open at 8 a.m., and huge liines already were in place.

A vaccination clinic is also planned for this Friday for people needing a second dose of the Moderna vaccine.

Nueces County received 500 doses specifically for people vaccinated with their first dose on Dec. 29.

Details of the clinic are still being hashed out though the county says it will be held at the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds.

People eligible for that clinic will get a text message from the Health Department - and they'll need to take their vaccination cards with them.
