Hurricane Alley Waterpark worker positive for COVID, temporarily shuts down

Hurricane Alley Waterpark had to temporarily close due to COVID-19 concerns. The waterpark made the announcement on its Facebook page.

According to the post, the waterpark was notified that an administrative employee tested positive for the novel coronavirus. The employee is reported to have last been at the downtown tourist attraction on Friday, June 12. At the time, the worker showed no symptoms of the virus but did develop some later.

Those who worked close to the employee have been notified and are undergoing testing while also self-isolating. Management made the decision to close the park to allow crews to deep clean and sanitize.

Hurricane Alley is expected to reopen Thursday, June 18 at 11 a.m.
