ORIGINAL STORY:
Driscoll Children's Hospital will be helping vaccinate those who are 65 and older this Thursday Jan. 4 during a mega vaccination clinic at the American Bank Center.
On Tuesday afternoon, the hospital and the city of Corpus Christi announced they would receive 1,000 doses for Thursday, and they are hoping to receive a shipment every week to make this a regular clinic.
The clinic will be appointment only, and it will not be a drive-thru clinic. Patients will have to go inside the American Bank Center to receive their shot.
Hospital staff is asking everyone to be prompt and arrive at their allotted appointment time.
"Do not show up early. You will be turned away. How early is too early? More than 30 minutes before your appointment. We do not want to create traffic jams," said Mary Dale Peterson, MD and Executive VP at Driscoll Children's Hospital.
The clinic will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 am. To register, visit driscollchildrens.org/covid19vaccine or call 1-844-977-1477. The hotline is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
