WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Centers for Disease Control may start recommending people wear N95 and KN95 masks rather than cloth masks.

The Washington Post credits an unnamed official who says the agency is considering this change.

This official says omicron spreads so easily that the CDC is looking at masks with better filtration.

The CDC's current mask guidance says masks should have two or more layers of fabric and fit snugly.
