CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Since Corpus Christi Independent School Districts closed last month because of the coronavirus pandemic, the district hasn't heard from more than 1,500 of its students.
That total is about 4 percent of the district's 36,000 student enrollment.
The district is intensifying its efforts to contact those students who it has lost contact with during this extraordinary event.
District officials said they had a 94 percent attendance rate before spring break, which was the last time the district was holding classes. But it's hard to compare that attendance to now.
We'll check to see what the district is doing to find these lost students during our reports at 5, 6 and 10 p.m. on KRIS-TV,
