KINGSVILLE, Texas — Law enforcement in Kingsville seized more than $30,000 worth of stolen items.
Kingsville police say the Public Safety Criminal Investigation Agency in Alice, helped complete this seizure.
But now the goal is to return these items to their rightful owners.
29-year-old James Bannister and 35-year old Ryan Vest are facing charges in connection with a major seizure in the Kingsville city limits.
Both are in the Kleberg County Jail facing multiple charges.
However, the main offense that has KPD officers’ hands full, shifting through the number of items that have been taken.
“Were cataloging all of the evidence to ensure that we cover that and that it actually gets into our case file and to ensure that the right owners get the correct property,” says Kingsville Chief of Police Ricardo Torres.
Computers, clothes to even old school World Championship Javelina rings from Texas A&M University Kingsville were discovered.
A major item that officers have to handle with care are the many guns recovered.
“So we ask the public, that if they've had any burglaries or thefts here in the last few days probably the last week of so that they make sure they report it to the department because we still have property where the proper owners have not been located,” says Chief Torres.
Police also say this investigation is still on-going yet believe more suspects are involved.
Officers say now the goal is to get these items to the appropriate owners.
