CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Firehouse subs has launched a new promotional campaign, and each day they're giving away a medium sub to people whose names matches the ones randomly selected by the company.
Today the lucky winners are:
“Carlos, Christopher and Amanda,” said David Barganski, local franchise owner of Firehouse Subs.
The names change every day, so if your name didn't get picked today, Barganski says there's always tomorrow.
“We don't know what the names are until the morning of so there’s no way to cheat and see who's coming up or anything like that,” said Barganski.
Firehouse Subs started the campaign in Florida and says besides giving their customers a chance at a free meal, the ultimate goal is to help first responders.
“Departments around the nation, whether it be fire or police will ask for grants and the foundation will do their due diligence and bequeath to these departments,” said Barganski.
Yes, the subs are free with any purchase, but the company raises money by asking their customers to round their order to the nearest dollar.
Those few cents go to the Firehouse Public Safety Foundation and in turn come right back to communities like ours.
“We just donated over $18,000 to the Portland Fire Department just in October where they were able to buy their backup bunker gear and not worry about toxins in the body and the smoke and ashes,” said Barganski. “The fire department in flour bluff they've also bought 10 sets of bunker gear a couple years ago and we're very proud of that.”
Since the foundation started, it has granted over $46 million to provide equipment, training, and support to hometown heroes.
“They help us and we're able to give back to them also and the customers those are who make it all happen,” said Barganski.
