CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Threads opened its doors in 2011, as the first resale shop to buy, sell and trade clothes to the public.
The shop has come a long way in those years,” said Autumn Hensiek, a Threads employee.
This week the store is focusing on the start of the holiday shopping season.
There are four days left until Small Business Saturday and here at Threads everyone's gearing up for what's expected to be a successful weekend of shopping local.
“When you're shopping local not only are you helping folks in your community like your neighbors and your friends but also you're ensuring that your dollars stay in your community,” said Hensiek. “You're making sure that we have the room and the finances.”
It'll be tempting to shop with big department stores on black Friday, so owner Megan Brieger is offering folks exclusive savings on gift card purchases and the first 75 customers will get a vintage shopping bag with the store’s throwback logo.
But the philosophy the store takes most pride in is being able to offer high-end designer and trendy pieces to local buyers who may not always have the hefty wallet for it.
“Brand name and just awesome unique pieces to folks who maybe may not be able to get those retailed high price items,” said Hensiek.” Help them find an item for a special occasion something like that can just really make a difference for someone.”
Holiday deals at Threads start on Friday and go into Saturday.
Threads is located at 4646 Everhart, Corpus Christi, TX.
