As Kawhi Leonard leads the Toronto Raptors, another step closer to the NBA championship, the disappointment of his departure from the San Antonio Spurs remains vivid for their fans.
And at least one observer has called out the Spurs for leading to Leonard’s controversial departure.
Esteemed rap musician Snoop Dogg called the Spurs out about how they treated Leonard at the end of his San Antonio tenure.
Snoop said on Fox Sports’ “Undisputed” that he has talked to Leonard about his career in San Antonio.
I've talked to Kawhi. It was a lot of disrespect in the Spurs' locker room towards him. That man brought them a championship, he locked up LeBron James. Now guess where they are? At home. Guess where he's at? Still playing with less help, just to prove them wrong.

Snoop’s comments are astounding as he blames the Spurs for how he left:
“I’ve talked to him. I believe it wasn’t a “quit.” I believe it was a lot of disrespect in that locker room towards him.
“That man brought you all a championship. That man locked up LeBron James.
“He was the shining star. When he took that injury, he was hearing all kinds of stuff that shouldn’t have been said. And remember he (was) a kid.
“When you’re hearing this as a kid, you take it the wrong way, you’re rubbed the wrong way.
“And guess where they (Spurs) are at now? San Antonio. At home and guess where he’s (Leonard) at? Still playing!”
Leonard scored 35 points – his fourth time with more than 30 points in the series — to lead the Raptors to a 105-99 victory at Milwaukee on Thursday. A victory on Saturday night in Toronto will push the Raptors to the first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history.
“The Claw” is the major reason for their success this season.
What do you think Spurs fans? Is Snoop correct? Are the Spurs responsible for Leonard’s departure, or did he contribute to how he left?
