Hurricane Harvey pretty much destroyed Oso Pier, but that landmark is making a comeback. It was first built in 1947, now another rebuild is underway.
A brand new 300-foot section of the pier is already in use. The group rebuilding the pier is holding a fundraiser this weekend to raise enough money to add another 300 feet.
“The goal is to finish it at the original length, the “t” and everything and ake it better than it was before,” says Mario Martinez with the Oso Pier rebuilding project.
This weekend’s fundraiser runs Saturday and Sunday and kicks off at noon each day.
It’s going to feature door prizes, food, drink and lots of music.
