Many observers are calling Sean McVay as one of the brightest minds in the NFL.

McVay, who just turned 33 last week, is the youngest coach to ever direct his team to the Super Bowl. Earlier, he made history as the youngest coach in modern NFL history when he was hired by the Rams in 2017 at the age of 30.

Even though he might not have to remember as far back to his high school days as most of his coaching contemporaries, McVay has shown vivid recall for plays in his past.

McVay was at it again Monday night at Super Bowl Opening Night when he passed the ultimate memory test given to him by a reporter about specific plays from his high school playing career at Marist High School in Atlanta 16 years ago.

The game in question was a 2003 state semifinal playoff game. McVay remembered the play and the sequence like it was yesterday.

It was an amazing piece of recall.

But the more pressing question, even with all his coaching precociousness, will be whether he can match coaching wits with Bill Belichick?

The matchup between McVay and the five-time Super Bowl-winning Belichick will be among the most intriguing storylines for the upcoming game.
